5000 series lightcurtains
are suitable for safeguarding high risk (category 4) applications such
as presses, press brakes, robots and other potentially dangerous machinery.
5000AP series
lightcurtains utilise advanced dual processor technology and are suitable
for safeguarding medium risk (category 3) applications such as palletisers,
stretch wrappers, automated warehouses and other automated applications.
Both the 5000 and 5000AP
series lightcurtains have been third party tested and certified to be
in conformance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements of
the Machinery Directive.
Over 250 approved models
of lightcurtains in various sizes & formats, are available providing
the specifier the ability to select the optimum lightcurtain to suit
the application with respect to positioning and sensing capability for
point-of-operation, perimeter or conveyor entry / exit guarding.
Self checking Control
and Mute Sequencing facilities are also provided as standard user options
on all models. These are housed in the transmitter unit, therefore an
additional control box is not needed.
Remote reset controllers
are also available to provide complete flexibility.
Both Smartscan exit
and entry / exit systems provide additional sensors within the
lightcurtain enclosures to detect the differences in profile between
a person and a product which effectively 'mute' the operation of the
lightcurtain when a product is passing through, but would cause the
operation of the machine to stop should a person attempt to pass into
the hazardous area.
To remove a loaded pallet,
or other component, from the detection field of the lightcurtain following
a safety violation a 'guard override' facility is provided.
Initiation of the key
switch enables the conveyor to run for a limited time, allowing the
pallet to be removed from the detection zone of the lightcurtain in
complete safety.
