The standard heavy duty X-axis back gauge is DNC controlled and mounts on the rear of the table. One or two precision ball-screw spindles, actuated by an AC servo-motor and mounted on twin linear bearings, drive the back gauge. With the twin linear bearing system, each robust linear carriage is mounted near the side frames to allow a reverse bend to fold down behind the machine. This is an important feature which is not usually available on single ball-screw centrally mounted back gauges. The standard X-axis back gauge has two probes, both of which are manually adjustable in height (R) and can be manually positioned anywhere along the length (Z) of the back gauge bar. Additional powered axes options include X1 & X2, R, R1 & R2, Z, Z1 & Z2. |

Pneumatic
flip probes for back gauge (cost effective alternative to R-axis)

| A more cost effective alternative to an R-axis is the addition of pneumatic flip probes. These are programmable to be positioned vertically or horizontally on each step of a program, depending on the position of the reference surface used. | |||||||||||||||||||||
