This equipment is designed to prevent collisions between cranes when two or more cranes are installed on the same track. The system uses photoelectrics to switch off the travel motion and automatically operate the long travel brakes. Each system comprises of a photoelectric cell for fixing to one crane and a strip of 8 reflectors to fix to the adjacent crane therefore two systems are required at the intersection between each pair of adjacent cranes. The system operates when the cranes are between 1.3m and 8.5m apart.
